The foundation of NatureFind is our partners

Published on June 3, 2015 under Partners

The nature centers, state parks, botanical gardens and other incredible organizations who submit their events really define who we are at NatureFind. We learn more every day about the amazing reach that these groups have in their local communities and are so excited to be connected to what they’re doing.

Did you know that according to the Outdoor Industry Association more than 140 million Americans are making outdoor recreation a priority in their lifestyles? People from all different age groups and backgrounds are enjoying their parks, taking hikes, paddling, discovering our national forests… and they’re contributing back to the same all the while.

This is great news for us, our partners, nature enthusiasts and the outdoor industry as a whole. With such a growing interest in spending time in nature, our friends at parks and nature centers are offering more and more programming to inspire, educate and connect people to the outdoors.

There are nature programs, hikes, bird watching trips, river clean ups, tree plantings and hundreds of other fantastic opportunities in every city for anyone who would like to be involved. Below is just a short sampling of some of the events we are featuring this week:

Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle is hosting a Bear Affair program – you can watch their captive bears tear apart a campsite and learn how to avoid these conflicts while enjoying the outdoors in the Pacific Northwest.

Big Break Regional Shoreline in San Francisco is presenting a kayak tour of the Shipwrecks of Big Break – from steam engines to farm equipment, learn about the sunken history of this beautiful shoreline.

Panola Mountain State Park in Atlanta is offering a Moonlight Mountain Hike – enjoy the sunset over the city and let the moon light guide you back to a campfire ready to roast your s’mores.

Liberty Park and Nature Center in Cleveland is having a Flint Knapping Demonstration – enjoy a day at the park and go home with a new (ancient) skill.

If you’re looking for your next adventure, take some time to get to know our partners. We have 20,000 more events listed that are coming to a nature place near you!
