The Junior Ranger program is an activity based program conducted in many parks across Virginia, and some Junior Ranger programs are national. Parks offer young visitors the opportunity to join the park service family as Junior Rangers. Interested youth complete a series of activities while in the park, get their forms signed, and receive an official Junior Ranger patch and certificate. Junior Rangers are typically between the ages of 4 to 12, although people of all ages can participate.
To start the Junior Ranger program, just pick up your packet from the Water’s Edge Meeting Facility and begin coming to the interpretive programs. Once you finish your packet and attend five programs (the interpreter will sign your packet at each one), you can go back to the meeting facility to receive your badge and certificate.Location URL:http://www.dcr.virginia.gov/state-parks/claytor-lake.shtml LOCATION DETAIL: Water’s Edge Meeting Facility
