Company Summary

 

The mission of NatureFind is to help people ‘find nature nearby', by providing information about natural places within minutes of their own front door. Our desire is to reach as many people as possible by becoming a content provider to premier destinations.

 

Product Summary

  • NatureFind is a content database for Natural Places

  • Over 6,200 places have been selected (parks, nature centers, botanical gardens, zoos)

  • Over 100,000 events are featured each year (nature walks, guided canoe trips, ranger talks, star gazing, animal showcases).

  • Places and events are based on 20 core categories.

  • Approximately 110 data points are collected at each location, and 27 data points for each event

How the data can be used

  1. Search Widget

  2. Sidebar with populated events (if users are cookied)

  3. Opt in e-mails or RSS feeds (encouraging users to come back to your site for a complete listing)

  4. Integrated with current events calendar or activities search.

Benefits

  • Green is In - Increasingly more people are interested in living 'Green' and buying locally.  Local farmers markets, Local activities, etc.  NatureFind fits very well into this channel.

  • Out is In - Schools and advertisements encourage screen free weeks and publications are writing articles encouraging the same. People are searching for this content.

  • Fresh Content - Events are updated daily, so the content is always fresh.

  • Data Collection - A city and state are entered to access the data, giving the opportunity to collect information and further profile your users.

  • Return Visitors - If the data is used in tandem with an e-mail or RSS feed, the user would click on the event to gain more information and return to the website.

  • Family Friendly - If your core demographic is users with families, NatureFind has the content. All events and locations are all family friendly.

  • Different Advertising Module - Another option for your advertisers beyond the banner is sponsorship of the search box.

  • Smooth Delivery - via customized pages, FTP or Web Service via XML.

Objective - Our objective is to reach as many viewers as possible turning them into visitors to the great places featured on NatureFind.  To do this we provide our data to large content providers, allow them to monetize the data, and share in the revenue. We envision this happening in one of four ways:

1) Display Ad revenue share

2) Flat monthly licensing fee

3) Sponsorship Revenue Share

4) Build traffic for commerce or non-profit sites
